About Cockapoos | ||||||
|
Cockapoos result from breeding a Cocker Spaniel to a Poodle. They derive
their extraordinary intelligence from the poodle as well as their non-shedding,
hypoallergenic coat. Because they do not shed, there is little dander. Dander,
of course, is the main cause of allergies to dogs.
The Cockapoo has a very sweet and loving disposition as well as a sturdy stature which comes from the Cocker Spaniel. The combination of Poodle and Cocker Spaniel gives these dogs their extraordinary ability to relate to people, both old and young. Some of the qualities attributed to the cockapoo are loyal, affectionate, open and friendly, non-destructive, eager to please, very trainable, healthy, vigorous, clean and long lived. The life expectancy of a Cockapoo is 18 to 20 years. Cockapoos come in a variety of sizes, depending on the size of the poodle. You can get a lap-dog sized 10 pound cockapoo or a larger dog up to 40 to 50 pounds. Cockapoos also come in a variety of colors. Click here to learn about cockapoo generations.
